Championing Connectivity

Amboseli Landowners Conservancies Association (ALOCA) is an umbrella trust comprising a collective of six conservancies nestled on the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro.

The conservancies are a result of over 200 landowners joining their individual parcels of land to secure 38,940 acres of dispersal areas and migratory corridors within the Amboseli ecosystem.

Championing Connectivity Conservation

Recognizing the threats posed to their livelihoods and their natural heritage due to rapid changes in land tenure and land use in the area, landowners in Amboseli came together to tackle habitat fragmentation and biodiversity loss by advancing connectivity conservation as a viable land use.

Kilitome Conservancy

Kilitome Conservancy is part of the wildlife migration corridor and dispersal area between Amboseli and Tsavo National Parks. It covers 2,429 hectares and has a membership of 100 individual land owners.
